A breakdown of these series by date of production is not presently available. According to BEP records, notes of these series were delivered to the Treasury between November 1935 and October 1953.

The table below shows the serial number ranges produced for the regular and star notes in these series. Serialling is continuous from each series to the next, but series transitions are not sharp; when a new series is introduced, notes of both the old and new series are printed for a time, and mixed together before the serial numbers are overprinted. All complete blocks run from 00000001 to 99999999, with the 100,000,000th note replaced by a star note. Colors denote certain special printings: the 1935 experimental and R&S experimental notes, and the Hawaii overprint and North Africa issues.

The exact printing sequence of the Hawaii and North Africa star runs relative to the regular note runs is guesswork on my part. In other words, it's possible that the second run of Hawaii stars was actually printed at the same time as the A..C block Hawaii run rather than the Z..B block run; and similar adjustments are possible for the other star runs. But assuming that the BEP's error rate was roughly constant over time, the true sequence of the various runs is likely to be rather close to that indicated in the table.

It is unclear whether there is any mixing of series in the star notes during the 1935A/1935B, 1935B/1935C, and 1935C/1935D transitions. In each case, the highest known star from the earlier series is below the lowest known star from the later series; however, it seems likely that at least some slight overlaps may have occurred.

Notice that serials M 981 28001 G through M 999 99999 G and * 070 44001 C through * 999 99999 C were omitted. The M..G and *..C blocks, having been begun on the 12-subject presses, were not used for the serialling of the 18-subject notes; so when the last of the 12-subject $1 plates had worn out, these blocks were left unfinished.

Serials * 046 08001 D through * 046 72000 D were also omitted, this time due to the print run of mixed regular and star notes needed to complete the G..G block of regular notes (since 100,000,000 notes equals 694 4/9 print runs of 144,000 notes each). No such gaps occurred when the consecutive-numbered 12-subject sheets were in use, since the print run lengths were then much more flexible.
