Series summary

Monthly production data for this series is not presently available before August 1976. According to BEP records, notes of this series were printed beginning in December 1975 and were first issued on April 13, 1976.

The table below first breaks down the regular serial number ranges for each district by their production method, and then shows the serial number ranges produced for the star notes in each district. The information on the star notes is somewhat questionable: Many of these stars were sold to collectors by the BEP in uncut sheet form, after it became clear that they would not be needed as replacement notes, and the BEP's own records of the serials included in the sheets sold this way are not entirely consistent.

The notes with serials B 454 20001 A through B 454 40000 A are all mismatched prefix errors: The 'B' in the left-hand serial number is replaced by an 'H'. The BEP accidentally numbered an entire print run with one prefix wheel set incorrectly, and the error was not noticed until after the notes had entered circulation.
